New York Department of Financial Services Superintendent Adrienne Harris will step down in October, marking the end of a transformative tenure. Under her leadership, NYDFS emerged as a pioneering force in crypto regulation, becoming the first U.S. body to issue stablecoin guidance.

Harris, the longest-serving superintendent in DFS history, spearheaded the establishment of the state's VIRTUAL Currency Unit. Her departure leaves a legacy of modernized policies and strengthened consumer protections in one of the world's most influential financial jurisdictions.

Kaitlin Aslow, a veteran of the Federal Reserve and Financial Health Network, will assume the role. The transition comes as New York maintains its position at the forefront of cryptocurrency oversight amidst evolving regulatory landscapes.
